Dr. Mary Peirson, Medical Director
Dr. Mary Claire Peirson, HBSc., M.D., C.C.F.P, is co-owner and medical director of ArtMed. Born and raised in Kitchener, she holds an undergraduate honours degree in biology from Wilfrid Laurier University, Waterloo, a Medical Doctorate from the University of Toronto and a post-graduate degree in Family Medicine from McMaster University, Hamilton. She worked for many years in family medicine throughout Ontario, and for several decades in the areas of public health, infectious disease, addiction medicine, adolescent health and women’s health. Dr. Peirson was invited into the practice of medical aesthetics and has found it to be a creative and rewarding area of medical practice.
Dr. Peirson carefully researches and vets all new treatments, technologies and products and offers only clinically proven premium skin care and best in-class technologies (Sciton Joule laser with Halo, Thermage CPT, Vanquish ME with Cellutone, Clear+Brilliant, Dermapen and PRP for skin rejuvenation and hair loss). Due to her background in infectious disease and public health, Dr. Peirson is stringent with respect to antiseptic technique and safety.
Dr. Peirson is known for her sensitive eye and artistic sensibility. She is an excellent listener, and is approachable and friendly. Each patient is unique and their treatment plan is customized to achieve optimal results for that individual.
Jane Watson, Business Director
Jane comes to the esthetics industry from an extraordinary angle. Her circuitous career path has fostered a wide array of skills that have enabled her to swiftly and expertly steer ArtMed to great success in a short period of time.
Her current role as Business Director of ArtMed, has been informed by her experience as an instructor in marketing at the School of Media and Design at Conestoga College, her background in small and large business administration, property management, and managing her own professional career as an actress.
She holds a Master’s degree in Performance from Binghamton University in New York and an Honours degree in the Arts from the University of Toronto. She also has degree in Education from OISE/UT.
As a result of managing the multi-faceted elements of her career, she has become an excellent communicator which translates into excellent customer service. Her management of operations allows Dr. Peirson, along with the talented team of ArtMed, to focus exclusively on clinical care and providing the best quality services and products available. She continues to educate and train herself, and encourages the staff to likewise invest in ongoing education which keeps them at the top of their profession.
Stephanie Fontaine, Clinic Manager
Stephanie Fontaine comes to ArtMed from a career in the laboratory science industry and in recent years has specialized in Client Services Management.
With her background in private healthcare services and retail business plus 17 years of experience in client care and customer service, Stephanie brings an exceptional level of expertise to her position as Clinic Manager at ArtMed. She is an excellent communicator, a super-organizer, innovative and an extremely approachable person.
Stephanie lives in Guelph with her husband, two children, a beloved German Sheppard and a cat!
Vijeta Singh, Nurse Practitioner, Injection Specialist
Vijeta is a Nurse Practitioner [NP-PHC, RN(EC)] specializing in Primary Care and Medical Aesthetics. She completed her Masters of Science in Nursing from McMaster University and has practiced in surgery, medical aesthetics and family medicine. Over the years, she has been able to train with global leaders in the aesthetics industry to advance her knowledge, skill and judgment for injectable treatments. These treatments include InstaLift threads, full face rejuvenation with dermal filler, neuromodulator techniques and more! She truly has a passion for education and has used her added training to deliver great results for clients.
Vijeta practices by ensuring that each treatment plan is comprehensive and unique to each individual. She finds it incredibly rewarding to improve confidence and empower individuals by providing natural aesthetic enhancements. Vijeta is very approachable and when she’s not injecting, you can find her spending time with family and friends!
Alina Moyer, Nurse Practitioner, Injection Specialist
Alina is a Nurse Practitioner with over 8 years of nursing experience plus 6 years of nursing focused postsecondary education. She began her career in Emergency and critical care. Since completing her Master of Science in Nursing and Nurse Practitioner Diploma she has practiced in chronic pain management, medical aesthetics and primary care.
Alina values continuing education and is always advancing her knowledge and skills. Her goal is to educate her patients as well as provide them with superior results driven treatments.
In her spare time, you can find Alina spending time with family outside in the garden or exploring local hot-spots.

Shannon Hanlon, RPN, Injection Specialist
Shannon graduated from Conestoga College in 2014 where she specialized in Primary Care Nursing, as well as in Long Term Care. She has always had a passion for the aesthetics industry, and decided to pursue Cosmetic Nursing early in her career. She completed her Medical Aesthetics Certification from Centennial College in 2016. Shannon also completed in-depth hands-on training through Weinject Training Facility in Etobicoke. From there she continued to expand her skills through various training opportunities. She has worked one-on-one with other industry professionals, attended conferences and participated in specialized training courses and continues to update and expand her skills in this rapidly evolving industry. Her passion and aesthetic sensibility enables her to work closely with her clients to develop a treatment plan that allows them to feel confident, comfortable and involved in their treatment.
Shannon is currently working towards receiving her RN BSCN through Nipissing University. She is a Guelph local and in her spare time enjoys playing hockey and spending time at her family cottage in Sauble Beach. Shannon enjoys the creativity and art of cosmetic medicine and loves to make her patients feel confident, while enhancing their natural beauty.
Amanda Nedilski, RN, Injection Specialist
Sarah Ferguson, RN, Injection Specialist
Sarah is a Registered Nurse with over 20 years of experience working in the high demand environment of McMaster University teaching-hospital. She now brings this exceptional professionalism and medical knowledge to her work as a cosmetic nurse injector at ArtMed.
With an extensive background in a multitude of nursing settings, including ICU, labour and delivery and interventional radiology, Sarah ‘s broad range of skills and experience is a wonderful asset to our community of practice at ArtMed.
Sarah is passionate about helping her clients achieve their aesthetic goals. She is certified in Neuromodulators (Botox/ Xeomin), Dermal fillers, PRP, and several other treatments.
When she is not at the clinic, she enjoys hiking, fitness pursuits, socializing, and spending time with her family.
Jennifer Glazer, Laser Technician and Medical Aesthetician
After struggling with cystic acne and acne scars for years, Jennifer decided to research laser & light therapies to help correct her skin. After doing further research she was compelled to further her knowledge by attending college for Medical Aesthetics, and soon graduated from a private college in Waterloo specializing in Laser & Light therapies and Medical Aesthetics. Because her love for aesthetics came from a passion to take care of her own skin she has a special affinity for those suffering from acne and scarring. Jennifer also worked at Sephora for 3 years, where she became an expert in the art of makeup, the importance of high quality skin care, and connecting with people.
Jennifer’s favourite part of her job is educating clients. She thrives on helping people decipher which treatments and products are best for them by explaining the science behind lasers and skin care products. Her confidence and compassion is the unmistakable sign of a professional and we are so glad to have her at ArtMed.
Ula Szumilas-Rapala, Laser Technician and Medical Aesthetician
Ula is a Certified Skincare Specialist and Laser & Light Technician. Her adventure in the beauty industry began 19 years ago when she graduated from an Advanced Aesthetics College in Poland. She furthered her extensive training by earning a Medical Aesthetics Diploma in Canada in 2013, and she continually expands her knowledge and stays up-to-date with new technologies in the aesthetic industry.
She is passionate about people and skin health, and we think you will find Ula’s positive, bright and nurturing personality shines through every day. She believes in the power of empathy, a warm smile, a kind word, and a relaxing touch. She is dedicated to helping people love their skin and to enhance their natural beauty.
Valeria Pugliese, Laser Technician and Medical Aesthetician
Valeria’s journey into the world of aesthetics is a unique one. Valeria began working behind the scenes in both television and the live theatre industry in 1998. She has worked closely with artists and performers for over twenty years. She began her career at the Banff Centre for the Arts working in several areas including theatrical makeup. After years of hard work and perseverance Valeria became the Head of Properties at The Stratford Festival’s Avon Theatre, and the first woman in the history of the Avon to earn a head position. Valeria earned her BAH and Masters in Theatre Arts at the University of Guelph and since then has been a Guelph local.
In addition to her accomplishments in Theatre Arts, Valeria’s passion for aesthetics inspired her to pursue her Laser Technician diploma at the Canadian Beauty College, among other certifications in skincare. In working closely with artists backstage, Valeria learned first hand the importance of aesthetics and how it can affect one’s confidence onstage and in front of an audience. After earning her diploma, Valeria began offering her skincare services to Guelph locals as well as her fellow artists, in order to help them achieve their goals in looking and feeling their best.
Jacquie Kimmel, Laser Technician and Medical Aesthetician
Jacquie is an experienced medical aesthetician and laser technician, graduating from the advanced aesthetics program at Ginas College in 2013. Jacquie has obtained many fundamental and advanced certificates in aesthetics and loves to be constantly learning about new treatments, products and protocols.
Providing a wide range of services, some of her favourites are: facials, laser hair removal, HALO and BBL. With her passion for aesthetics treatments Jacquie always thrives to have clients happy when they are in clinic & happy when they are leaving.
When Jacquie is not at work you will find her enjoying the outdoors, practicing karate and spending lots of quality time with her husband, son & two orange tabbys.
Skye Leitch, Office Administrator
Skye graduated from George Brown in Toronto with a certificate in Medical Aesthetics. She has gathered 8 years of experience in customer care, having worked in spa environments as well as at an eye care clinic. You will see Skye at our front desk, helping clients with bookings and questions about treatments. When you enter the clinic, she will welcome you with a glowing smile! Skye has a passion for skincare, and she loves helping people find their perfect skin regime. Outside of work, she has a fervor for animal care taking. You will find her volunteering at local animal sanctuaries. We are so happy to have Skye as a part of the ArtMed team!
Jenna Gorecki, Clinical Assist
Jenna Gorecki is the right-hand woman to ArtMed’s clinical team. As clinical assistant, Jenna sees to the smooth operation of the clinic behind the scenes including managing inventory, seeing that rooms are stocked, cleaned and supplied, sterilizing equipment and overseeing the clean room. She also prepares clients for treatments and takes care of them afterward. Jenna’s a key supporter of the team. With a background in the life sciences studying Psychology at the University of Guelph, Jenna brings a strong technical background to her position as well as energy and enthusiasm.
