Ask Dr. Peirson – What is Mesotherapy?
I’ve heard Mesotherapy is popular in Europe. What is it precisely?
Mesotherapy is a very popular skin rejuvenation procedure widely available in Europe and now available at ArtMed. It addresses dullness, dehydration, crepiness and general signs of aging in the skin.
Mesotherapy is a non-surgical aesthetic medical treatment involving the administration of hyaluronic acid, vitamins, minerals and amino acids intradermally through dozens of tiny injections. Mesotherapy typically involves injection of uncross-linked hyaluronic acid which is HA in its natural, liquid state. Newer products like Volite from the makes of Juvederm, employ lightly cross-linked HA which has more staying power. Volite is injected intradermally in a grid like pattern over the skin and this treatment provides hydration, and skin smoothing effects.
