What are neuromodulators and how do they work?

Neuromodulators are natural purified proteins derived from bacteria. When injected into muscles that cause wrinkles neuromodulators will relax those muscles for about 3 to 4 months resulting in a smoother and improved appearance. Typically these prescription neurotoxins are used to treat the appearance of frown lines, forehead lines and crow’s feet.

How are neuromodulator treatments done?

Using very, very small needles, a small amount of neuromodulator is injected directly into the muscles that are responsible for producing wrinkles.  The dosage used varies depending on which muscle is being treated and the strength of that muscle. Men typically require higher doses than women. At the appropriate dose these medications effectively inactivate these muscles, thereby causing lines to disappear or diminish dramatically.
