Dear Valued ArtMed Clients,
As the Omicron variant continues to spread in Ontario and case numbers rise, we hope that you are staying safe and practicing all the precautions we have become accustomed to over the past 2 years. Early research has shown that the Omicron variant is less severe than other variants but much more transmissible therefore it is still important to protect ourselves, each other and particularly the vulnerable members of our population and our healthcare system.
At ArtMed we continue to implement protocols and processes that allow our clinic to safely remain open and provide most services. Our standards go beyond Public Health requirements, and our collective safety remains our highest priority.
Modifications from now until January 26th include:
- We will be limiting appointments and spacing out time between appointments to reduce in-clinic traffic and capacity in January.
- We will be carefully monitoring our staff (who will be wearing hospital grade PPE) and rapid testing will be employed if indicated to assure safety.
- HEPA/UVC air filtration will be set to maximally ventilate the clinic and treatment rooms will be thoroughly cleaned and ventilated between appointments. Windows in the laser division will be opened to boost ventilation when required.
- Access to the clinic will be controlled (doors locked) and access and foot traffic strictly monitored.
- Parking-lot Pickup for products will be encouraged and simplified. (see below)
The new modified stage 2 Public Health Measures for Ontario announced yesterday come into effect tomorrow, Wednesday January 5th and until January 26th. What does that mean for you at ArtMed?
If you have an upcoming appointment with one of our nurses or physicians, be assured that services with regulated health care providers (nurses, physicians) fall under the medical clinic arm of our business and as such, no appointments need to be cancelled or rescheduled as a result of the new measures announced yesterday. If you do nonetheless wish to cancel an appointment, we do request that you give us a minimum of 48 hrs notice of your cancellation.
If you have an upcoming appointment with one of our laser technicians or medical aestheticians, those services fall under the personal service arm of our business. The government mandated a return to a modified Step 2 of the Roadmap to Reopen plan as of Wednesday, January 5th; this means that no personal care services in which the mask is removed are permitted. You can find the full details HERE.
In brief, if you have an upcoming appointment with one of our laser technicians or medical aestheticians, we are offering you a few options:
Option 1
We can offer most facial services with a use of a SpiderTech Spa Mask. You may wear a Spider Tech Spa Mask and still receive your regularly scheduled medical aesthetic treatment. The Spa Mask is an innovative face mask that utilizes 100% cotton and latex free kinesiology tape to keep you safe during all your facial aesthetic service.
Option 2
During this period of restriction (Jan 5 – 26) for clients with currently scheduled facial laser appointments, we can substitute your original appointment and offer special pricing on an alternate body treatment instead. Please contact the clinic for details.
Option 3
We can cancel your current appointment and we will place you on an email list. We will then email you when it is possible to rebook your original appointment. i.e. once we are certain we are out of the Stage 2 restrictions.
Parking Lot Pick-Up for Product
We encourage clients who would like to purchase product at this time to order online through www.shopartmed.ca and to select in-clinic pickup when checking out your basket. When you arrive at ArtMed to collect your purchase please text the clinic phone (226-962-2532) to advise us of your arrival. We will be designating two parking spots close to our back door for pick-ups only at this time. Advise staff which spot you are in, and they will bring your product out or place it on a table next to the door and alert you of its readiness to be collected.
If you are unwell, please cancel your appointment ASAP. Assume you have Covid if you have two or more of the following symptoms: fever, cough (new or worsening), trouble breathing, sore, throat, fatigue, loss of taste/smell, headache, runny nose or nasal congestion, muscle aches and or joint pain.
Thank you in advance for your patience as we navigate the Omicron wave of the pandemic. We are responding to emails and phone messages as fast as we can, but as you can imagine, there are many! We will strive to communicate regularly and update you, our valued clients, as we can.
Stay well,
Jane and Mary
