BBL™ (Broad-Band Light)
Increase Skin Firmness | Reduce Redness & Brown Spots| Even Complexion | Treat Acne
What does BBL™ mean?
Broad Band Light (BBL™), Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) and photofacial are three terms for flashlamp treatment (light energy of many wavelengths). Like lasers, different devices offer a wide range of power outputs. BBL™ is a trademarked term for IPL using Sciton’s xenon dual flash lamp technology. It has twice the energy output of most IPL, and advanced cooling technology making it the industry gold standard.
How does it work?
The light energy delivered by IPL photorejuvenation will flash heat the upper layers of your skin. The heat absorbed by the targeted areas will stimulate skin cells to generate new collagen increasing skin firmness, it will cauterize capillaries to reduce excess redness and it will break up pigment to even out complexion and remove brown spots.
BBL™ will improve skin quality, even out the complexion and promote skin cell turnover resulting in younger, healthier skin. Treatment will be tailored to your skin type and specific skin issues. Any area of your body can be treated. Commonly treated areas include the face, neck, back of the hands, chest, and shoulders.
Forever Young BBL™ is a specific treatment designed to optimize the anti-aging effects of BBL™ and is a highly popular preventive treatment to keep you looking young.
What is Forever Clear BBL™ and how does it work?

BROADBAND LIGHT (BBL™) FAQ’s
-
BroadBand Light (BBL™) is an intense pulse of light, or IPL, also sometimes called a photofacial.
-
The intense pulse of light enters the skin and is attracted to the excess brown pigments and excess redness. For sun damage and hyperpigmentation the BBL™ will expose the excess pigment so that within 7 to 10 days it will come up to the surface of the skin and flake off. The pigment will appear as if they were tiny coffee grinds on the surface of the skin. It will fall off during your normal daily cleansing. To treat access redness known as Rosacea, the BBL™ will cauterize the vessels that are close to the surface of the skin in order to diminish their appearance. Within 7 to 10 days the blood will reabsorb back into the body.
-
Most people require 3 - 4 treatments initially, spaced 3 to 4 weeks apart. This is called a foundational series of treatments and will address most of your pigmentation concerns. Many of clients choose to continue to have 1 treatment a year for the additional benefits of collagen production and overall skin health. BBL™ is the only device that has been shown to change the expression of genes associated with aging, longevity, and increased lifespan. With regular BBL™ treatments, patients' skin looks clear, smooth, and much younger.

Clients must stop using products with active ingredients (ie. retinol, TransEx, Salicylic Acid, Hydroquinone, ect.) If you have any questions about which products contain active ingredients, please email our team.
It is imperative that the skin is not tanned when we perform the treatments. Post-treatment it is required that you wear SPF 30 on the skin and avoid long periods of sun exposure. Sun exposure can raise the risk of hypo or hyper pigmentation, a lightning or darkening of the skin. So it would be best to consider your series of treatments during the time of year that your skin is the lightest.
-
The treatment will take approximately 20 to 30 minutes to perform.
-
After the treatment your skin will appear slightly red, and will feel quite warm for a couple of hours. We will give you ice packs to cool the area. The redness shouldn't last much longer than 12 hours at the very most and any swelling that may occur should not last more than 2 to 5 days. Within about 2 weeks after each appointment you will start to see the results from your BBL™ treatment.

As long as you do the BBL first, then you can do BOTOX or Fillers the same day. If you had BOTOX or Fillers first, you should wait at least 24-48 hours before BBL
